Marrakech Picture Diary- day 3

So my last few posts have been pretty heavy on the words. People keep asking me: what was Marrakech like? I can say what I did and where I went, but it's not a place you can really describe, especially the souks. So here is all I have to say about our last day:

1. We rode camels

2. We went to the Jardin Majorelle which were owned and restored by Yves Saint Laurent and has a memorial to him. I didn't have my YSL ring which my friends got me for my 21st with me, otherwise I would have worn it in his honour. But I felt that wearing an outfit that would have coordinated perfectly with my ring counted as being a tribute.

3. Ray and I indulged in another massage at our hotel.

4. We ventured into the souks one last time. I really perfected my bargaining this day. I got a wooden box inlaid with mother of pearl for $20AUD down from $180. I could have gone lower I suspect but I would have felt bad. Also they definitely switched the box on me during the haggling process, which if your in the same situation please beware of this, but the one I got only had a few slight flaws and so I was happy to hand the money over without saying anything and still felt I had won.

5. We had dinner watching the sun set over the main square.

6. I decided I was heading back to Morocco as soon as I had a house to renovate. That copper sink I wanted will still be there hopefully.

Xx
